St Mary’s Social Club was built for Theatre Productions and following in the footsteps of our ancestors, at a time when those productions were unfashionable, one of our founders suggested a group of people should get together and bring back the theatre to Batley.  So, in 1989 we, St Mary’s Theatre Group, were formed and we staged a successful major production to the delight of our audience.

Ever since then we have produced and entertained our audiences with two Shows every year.  We are lucky to have the stage and the facilities at the Club and we now have our own talented band bringing live music to our productions!  We are a not for profit organisation and keep our prices low so that local families can look forward to our yearly Pantomime which Santa visits each year.
